Draft #5 - Meet the Twileys

Princess Twilight Sparkle is outlined and colored in this latest draft of a new My Little Pony-Equestria Girls crossover cartoon. Twiley is a teacher at Canterlot High School and the human Twiley, renamed Twyla Sparks, is all smiles at the grade on her class assignment: A-plus. Next will be the background of Twilight's classroom and an easter-egg appearance of Derpy Hooves as a school secretary.

Here are some answers to questions one may have about this drawing:

How can Twiley be the Princess of Friendship and a high school teacher at the same time? Anything can happen in a cartoon, and especially in fan fiction. Actually, Twilight's duty is to spread the magic of friendship throughout all Equestria, per the TV show. In this fan cartoon, she carries out part of that duty as a teacher, sharing friendship in a practical way to the ponies and people of EHS the same way Princess Celestia taught her as young filly. She is a part-time teacher; her princess duties are carried out in her off-time back at her treehouse. Twilight loves teaching because it's more to her liking than the endless signing of proclamations, cutting ribbons at official functions, and blasting Lord Tirek and King Sombra to kingdom come.

Why is the human Twilight black? Why not? The Equestria Girls are of every color of the rainbow, so there is a precedent. I've seen fan art on DA of a human Twiley with an African-American appearance, and some of it is quite good. So I'm not really rocking the boat by making her black. And this particular skin tone works well with Twiley's hair, eye color and outfit. Unfortunately, some fans object to making the human Mane Six any real-wold skin color that isn't Causasian, and they do so loudly and obscenely. Thankfully, the reaction to Twyla Sparks (my version of human Twilight) so far has been positive.
